comparison
Looking at these two images we can see a clear number of simularites such as the lose posture and the surly facial expresion, but also the less obvious ones such as the camera angle and the casual clothing. But if we refer back to demographics we can also see a clear similarity such as the age (mid 40's), race and gender (White british male), although the area and social status are not the same (i.e. person on the left is from the east and is married with two teenage sons, whilst the right is from Manchester with a rocky relationship history). Aswell as this the two do not share similar Psychographics (i.e. Left is working class male with strong views against the use of drugs and public fighting i.e. a mainstreamer, where as the right clearly is not and is a succeeder). How my magazine represents social groups is fairly clear by the points made but they do try to 'subvert' conventional stereotypes of rock/pop stars in Britian such as public behavior and use of certain drugs as a posative as it is part of the target audiences image.
