After making both my final peice and my preliminary task i have learnt a number of new skills in both photo shop and photography. If we look at the preliminary task we can see an clear fault with it which is that it looks more like a page within a magazine rather than a front cover, this happened as a result of filling too much of the space with uneeded text and images this also made it look blocky. Another big falut is that all of the images are of similar camera distances, of similar angles, not very good lighting and none of them are edited this makes them look very amature. also my preliminary task uses no special brush toold to give intresting effects, this makes it look bland and unlikely to catch anyone's attention. I was given allot of feed back about my perliminary task I was told that "It does work but just not very well. It looks more like a contents page than a front cover, and the photos used are all very similar, in fact the magazine is very 'samey' through out" I took this into account when making my music magazine as well as small comments (Title too small, bland, pictures need editing). It is clear that i have learnt allot in the progresion from the two tasks when you look at the two pictures and the double page spreed (See flickr for the image) shows that i have also improved my journalism skills aswell.
